Hi guys, been a while I posted pictures of my beads here. I've been sooooo mega swamped with work that looking at myself in the mirror has become a task instead of a normality.

Anyway, made loads of beads in the past few months and I didn't even have the time to take pictures of some of them but I still have a few I can share.

Guys lets face it: If you care about how you look, if you want to make a good impression, your skin is the first place to start....

I'm sure lots of guys are wondering why anyone will be writing about beauty routines for Men. Well, it won't kill you to spend a little extra time caring for your skin, neither will it hurt your masculinity.

Traditionally, men spend less time caring for their skin like women do but spend more time damaging it through outdoor sports and other outdoor activities. As we all know, you men spend more time outdoors and this exposes your skin to environmental pollutants, causing poor skin health.

Skin care for men is very easy since typically, ''Men'' don't wear makeup. So, all you need to bother about is dead skin cells, clear pores, hydration and a little bit of shine :-)

Dead Skin Cells
The uppermost layer of your skin (startum corneum) dries out and sheds after a while, allowing fresh new skin to help protect you overall skin. These dead skin cells are suppose to fall off/shed but unlike snakes and other animals that shed their skin, they need help. The only way to get rid of them is by bathing everyday.

Having your bath regularly might not even be enough to keep you clean because some dead cell fragments still remain on your skin, so the best way to get total rid of them is by Exfoliation.

Most of you men use readily available soaps to wash up, this isn't bad but regular bath soaps don't wash you clean or remove dead cells completely. Opt for an exfoliating bar soap, this easily gets rid of the dead cells & stale sweat leaving your skin looking fresh and polished.

Clear Pores
Men have 15% oilier skin and larger pores than women do, therefore daily cleansing is key.

Oily skin is more prone to clogged pores because of the level of oxidation that goes on in the skin.
Now every man needs his pores to be clear. You don't have a choice here especially if you are hairy. The amount of time you spend outdoors exposes you to dust/dirt, sweat e.t.c.
Cleansing your face regularly with toners that contain Glycolic acids or Alphy hydroxy acids help to clear your pores, making your skin firm and reducing the size of your pores.

Hydration
Alcohol is a major skin drainer and its significant to men. High consumption of alcohol dehydrates your skin, so if you must indulge, don't over do it. Also, water helps rehydrate your skin, so if you must "drink" make sure you take loads of water.

To prevent hydration, you should also moisturize your skin. This is one major procedure men don't like. About 60% of men avoid using body creams and moisturizers, I still don't understand why.....

Moisturizing your skin is one very important routine you shouldn't skip. For intensive moisture treatment, pure vitamin E or aloe vera oil can be used. If you have really oily skin, moisturizers that contain only salicyclic acid or glycolic acids should be used.

Shaving
Most men find a comfortable way to shave and stick to it. If you always have irritations from shaving, you should get a shaving cream with aloe vera and leather it up with extra water. You can also try pre-shaving oil, this helps moiturize skin and soften beard hairs.

*For razor burns which are caused by ingrown hairs, use a shaving cream that contains glycolic and salicylic acids. These are exfoliating agents that clear the pores.

Other than shaving creams, another important thing about shaving is the kind of razor you use. Electronic razors are less likely to irritate than blades but if you prefer a blade, choose a brand that has one or two blades and skip those brands with multiple blades that promise a closer shave.

*If you always have bumps and burns, you don't need a close shave. Let some hair remain in order to avoid ingrown hairs.
*Always shave in the direction that hair grows and not against the grain.
*Don't forget your aftershave lotions and toners. They contain astringents that help tighten the pores, creating a firmer skin barrier. Always ensure to avoid toners and astringents that contain alcohol, as this dries out the skin.

Hi Makeup lovers, been a few days since you last saw me here ;)

I did my "almost regular" casual Friday makeover for a colleague (shh!!! My boss must not hear) and decided to share with you guys.

You won't believe what I used to achieve this "pretty girl" look.... Eye liners! Oh yes, just different shades of 'not so expensive' eye liners. Though I used pink gloss right after the lip pencil just to give her lips some shine.

Her Face
To balance her looks, I applied Marykay medium coverage foundation in 507 & I set the foundation with Ponds face powder.

The Eyes
For the eyes, I used Lavelle eye liner in PL-12 (gold) for the inner corner of the eyes & Jordana Double Colour in light blue for the outer corner of her eyes. I then contoured the outer corner of the eyes with Zaron Retractable Eyebrow pencil.

*All these pencils were used in d absence of eye shadows :D and I blended using my fingers (didn't have my brush set with me).

I lined her waterline with Zaron retractable black eye pencil & lined her eyelids with Zaron waterproof intense liquid eye liner.....oops! Forgot to apply mascara on her lashes (running back to do that).

Will be applying my most loved, Maybelline waterproof mascara on her lashes.

The Lips
Since she has the "girly look" today, I decided to go all bubblegum on her, so I lined her lips with Jordana Double colour pencil in fusia pink, blended it out with d cover ;), then applied Island Beauty lipstick in pure pink on her lips and topped it up with a little bit of shine by applying Kiss beauty long lasting gloss wear.

Her Cheeks
In the absence of a bronzer (I really wanted to contour her cheekbones before applying blush), I used Iman Luxury powder in Earth dark to contour her cheekbones, then I applied a shear pink blush to brighten up her face.

Hi guys, been a while. I always don't like to say this but it's been my regular line for a while now. I'm so sorry I haven't been writing as much as I used to but I'll try to be more regular.

Red Lipstick............ That's one lip colour I wear often or....all the time, except once in a blue moon when I have my bubble gum pink on *covers face*
I've had lots of friends ask me why I only wear this one shade of lipstick. The funny thing is, I actually have over 50 shades of lipstick but I really don't mind wearing red.

Ook! Back to the topic... Red lipsticks are one lip product that have refused to go out of trend but still, lots of ladies are too conservative or scared to wear it. I've had several wedding/event makeovers where the client refuses to let me apply red lipstick on then (my strong persuasive/convincing skills never fail me though). I find this confusing sometimes because red is vintage. If your old mothers and grandmothers could be courageous enough to wear red, why not young & vibrant you?

There's one lady I know who wears red lipstick like no other, she was a makeup artist and someone I look up to for makeup tips. She's Adenike Ogungbe (RIP) of Ewar Make-Overs, here's a picture of her rocking red ;)....

Adenike Ogungbe (Ewar Make-Overs)
She knows how to use her brushes like no other....checkout some of her bridal makeovers on her blog: www.ewarberry.blogspot.com

I was able to pin point a few reasons why ladies pull away from red lipsticks & I listed them below;
* Some think it just won't fit them (you haven't even tried it).
* Fear of being noticed when all you want to do is be in the shadows.
* A few people think red only fits light skinned ladies.............

There are loads of other reasons I can't think of right now but hey! Everyone can wear red lipstick, it just depends on how you apply it. I'll be giving you a few tips on different ways to apply red lipstick to fit you.

Red & Light Skin: If you're light skinned, its best to wear red lipstick with orange undertone (e.g. Liable by Illamasqua) or coral red lipsticks because they blend better with your pale skin.

Red & Dark Skin: Dark skinned ladies liked me should wear brick red lipstick (Fire down below by Nars) or red with blue/purplish undertones (e.g. Ruby Woo by Mac or Gash by Urban Decay). I noticed most dark skinned ladies run away from red lipsticks because they think it'll look better on light skinned ladies. This isn't true because there's a shade for everyone.

APPLICATION
If you're able to find the right shade for your skin tone, the next step is knowing how to apply it properly.
You can either wear your red lipstick with shine or keep it matte. This also depends on your age group so you don't over shine or under shine.

The best, general & easiest way to apply lipstick is first by applying a lip liner that is one shade darker than your lipstick on the lover lip line, after which you blend it in with a lip brush, then the application of your lipstick follows. After proper blending, you can add some gloss, depending on the look you want to have.

Red Lipstick & Late Teens
I'll always advice teenagers who want to wear lipstick to maintain soft or pastel colours. This keeps you looking young and vibrant. Pink is always your best bet but stay away from dark pink(bubble gum) or any other dark shade, they only make you look older.

Red Lipstick in Your 20's
This group will always rock any time. You're young and vibrant and can always experiment. The best way to wear red is with shine. So, skip your lip liner, apply the best red lipstick (or lip stain preferably) for your skin tone all over your lips, blend and apply some gloss & you're ready to rock.

Red Lipstick Meets 30's
At this stage, you want to look more sophisticated (though lot's of people in their 20's are struggling to fit in here) so its best to play matte. This is what I call The Hollywood Red (worn mostly for red carpets) & it's worn without gloss. All you need to do is buy matte red lipstick of any brand you like, apply it all over your lips, blend & you're good to go.

Red Lipstick in Your 40's
This is the stage/age where your lips begin to loose their natural plumpness, so strong bright colours will only make your lips look thinner. The best way to go here if you want to wear red lips is by using/applying a lip stain which is easy to apply and helps retain the natural texture of your lips. No gloss is needed..

Red Lipstick For The 50's & Above.......
At this stage, you want to avoid blocks of colour. So, it's best to stick to sheer colours which even help moisturise your lips since it's their drying out season.

Lip Colour & Red Lipstick
Your lip colour can sometimes determine how you apply your red lipstick. Some people have really dark lips while some have two toned lips.
For dark lips, stick to "true" red lipsticks (lipsticks with blue undertones). Then for people with two toned lips, (i.e. people with their upper or lower lip darker than the other), let your darker lip take the lead by using a lip liner that is the shade of your dark lip to fill up the light lip before applying your lipstick.

Some people also have two toned lower lips. To achieve a well blended look, apply a darker shade of your lipstick on the light inner lip, then a lighter lipstick shade on the darker part but you can always use pink to highlight the inner lip, while the red remains on the outside.

I think I've been able to help a little but if you have more questions on how to wear your red lipstick, please leave a comment & I'll definitely reply.
Hi ladies, the red fever is still on but I think we should try out new colour replacements for black and red. Every lady getting married now wears a piece of red, which is mostly brought on with the use of red beads or other red accessories (shoes & purses).
I know how much we love red but hey!! other neutral colours fit perfectly too. Also, I've been making a lot of red beads lately...rme..... So you guys pleeeeeease lets make a few colour changes. What's the point in wearing colours if we can't experiment using different colours? I'm not against red but I think some other colours will work just as well as red does, so why not try out colours like yellow, cream, white, peach, beige, champagne, ivory................& a whole lot of other cool colours?
Darkened, chapped lips can lead to a bad first impression by making you look unclean and unhealthy. The causes of lip darkening ranges from the body's absorption of toxic ingredients to the lack of proper lip care.
If you have naturally dark lips, then this post is not for you **wink**.

As easy as it is to blame lip products for the 'gradual' darkening of your lips, you should know that lots of other things such as; smoking, consumption of tea & coffee, exposure to sunlight and dehydration can also contribute to the darkening of your lips. I've listed a couple of things that can cause your natural lip colour to change below;

Lip Products: It's true that some lip products can cause darkening but its most likely due to using products from disreputable companies or products that are already expired (If you've been using your lip products for more than two years, its time to throw them away). Except you are allergic to your lip product, it is unlikely that your favourite lipstick or lip pencil will cause a gradual darkening or change in your lip colour but to be on a safe side, it'll be better to switch to lip products made with natural ingredients in very sheer or transparent shades or stop using lip products for a few weeks and see if there'll be any improvement.

Hyper-pigmentation: The sun rays harm all parts of our body including the lips. We spend so much time protecting our skin from the sun's harmful rays and forget our lips completely. Our lips can also burn (hyperpigmentation), in fact they are very sensitive to UV rays, especially with constant exposure to the sun. Applying a lip balm with SPF 15 will do the trick and will keep your lips smooth and chap-free.

Dehydration: Not drinking enough water and constant licking of the lips can cause dehydration. As much as dehydration affects the body and skin, it also affects the lips by drying it out which causes darkening after a while. We obviously need water to survive but we aren't drinking enough. The recommended 2-3 litres of water should be taken throughout the day to keep us hydrated and healthy and our lips moisturised.

Smoking: This is one cause of lip darkening that a lot of us know about. Apart from a long list of problems linked with smoking, having dark lips and teeth is a major reason we should even quit since its physical. Its also known to cause damaging effects to the skin such as drying it out, forming wrinkles around the eyes and the mouth also.

Caffeine & Hot Stuff: Some of us can't ignore that craving & aroma of freshly brewed coffee, while some can't stop chewing ice or taking hot tea even when the sun is really hot. The same way caffeine can stain the teeth, it can also make the lips darker depending on how much you consume. Caffeine can get you through the day but can also give your lips a darker pigment with time. You can counter this effect by drinking water with your coffee or tea or try cutting back a cup or two daily.

Allergens: Allergens in skin care products can contribute to blackened lips. These allergic reactions are caused by dyes or fragrances in your lip sticks and lip glosses. These reactions can only be prevented by terminating the use of the product.

Now that we know some of the things that cause blackening of the lips, we should also know some precautions/measure to help prevent/resolve lip discolouration.

Exfoliate Your Lips: This helps remove dead skin cells from your lips, simply by using a wet baby toothbrush to scrub your lips gently to avoid hurting your delicate lips. Apply a thin coat of lip balm once you're done scrubbing, so your lips don't dry out. You can also make a yummy lip scrub by mixing sugar and honey and applying on your lips for about 5 minutes. Honey is a natural antioxidant that helps protect lips from damage and sugar will remove rough lip skin. There are also a lot of cosmetic brands that produce a wide variety of lip scrubs which you can choose from.

Makeup Cover: With the help of concealer, you can cover up any form or shade of dark lips ;)
So don't be worried that you won't be able to wear all your favourite colours of lipstick just because your lips are turning dark.

Natural Remedy: A mixture of lime, honey and glycerine applied regularly could help lighten dark lips. Just apply it everyday for a few weeks or until you see positive effects.
* Lemon juice is also known for its skin lightening abilities. So you can make a paste of equal parts of lemon juice, flour, yoghurt and honey and rub it on your lips. Leave the paste on your lips for half an hour then wash off. You can continue this process for 2 weeks.

Keep your lips Moisturised: This keeps your lips healthy and makes them appear lighter by not drying them out. You can also try natural lip softeners such as butter or vaseline to help condition your lips. Apply either of them on your lips at night and as needed during the day to help protect your lips from darkening.

Its important we take care of our lips because as much as the eyes define the face, the lips add flavour to it..............

A lot of you wonder why your foundation doesn't stay on all day or looks like its dripping off your face after a few hours even when you are wearing the right shade.
You sometimes wonder if its the foundation that is bad or if you have actually gone darker, making it difficult for the foundation to blend. Well, a lot of things can cause this to happen but one major problem I identified is
''Compatibility between your facial products and your foundation''.

Water and oil don't mix well, the same goes with silicon and oil/water. So, if you're using a water based foundation, use a water based moisturizer. If you're using an oil based foundation, use an oil based moisturizer or primer. In this aspect, 'like' attracts 'like'. You can't use an oil based moisturizer with a water based foundation and expect your foundation to stay put all day.

Also, most primers are silicon based so they're best paired with silicon based foundations which are found in most cosmetic stores. This will give you a smooth finish, that's why most people will advice you use primers, foundations & powders of the same brand just because they think it'll blend better, whereas the major reason for this perfect blend is actually because these products contain the same agents (oil, silicon or water).

Lots of people have oily skin so I'll advice you stick to water based foundations which are found mostly in tubes & bottles. You should also pair this with water based moisturizers and primers also, so I've listed a few bellow;

Water Based Foundations
* Mac face and body
* Estee Lauder's Invisible Fluid Foundation
* Givenchy's Photo'perfection Foundation

Most of you have the notion that blackheads are dirty and caused by accumulated dirt on the skin or poor hygiene, so you think scrubbing your face will solve the problem but it won't. Blackheads are just a product of oxidization in the facial skin which results in the accumulation of oil (mostly containing keratin & modified sebum) in the sebaceous glands. So, don't stress your face or cause damage to your skin by over scrubbing it.

There are ways to get rid of black heads which is basically by exfoliation but using different products.
This helps to clean out the clog in your pores by dissolving and washing them out. The various types of exfoliating agents we have are Glycolic acids, AHA (alpha hydroxyl acids), Salicylic acid, Succinic acids, BHA (beta hydroxyl acids) and they are found in creams, lotions, potion, soaps, toners and oils.

* Pull or pore strips also help ''reduce'' blackheads but they don't control or target the major cause or origin of the problem, so this is a temporary treatment that can be used once in a while.
* Toners also help cleanse pores but the problem with this is the alcohol content which can cause an irritating effect to the skin especially for people with sensitive skin.

Most of us have used products containing these agents and still haven't been able to control our blackheads or stop them from appearing on our faces. Well some of the agents I listed above (Glycolic acid & AHA) are found in exfoliating products but aren't strong enough to clean the pores of the skin so they only work on the surface and are best used by people with normal, aging and sun damaged skin.

To clear or get rid of blackheads completely, you need something that can go under your skin to clear and minimize the clog especially during oxidation, so look out for different products that have mostly Salicylic acids, Succinic acids and BHA in them. These agents have 100% exfoliating effects.

PH Effect
The PH of these agents also play a vital role in its effectiveness. Sometimes we might buy these exfoliating creams or lotions but handling it wrongly (exposure to air) could increase its PH (5 & above is not acceptable) therefore causing a reduction in its potency.

Over cleansing, striping or scrubbing your face when you have blackheads could cause other skin irritations, so I advice that you should be careful in your plight to beautify your skin and not cause more damage to it. Also, be careful when choosing the beauty product you think might suit your skin, so you don't end up using something that will make it worse than it was.

For those of us who like using or would prefer to use pull/pore strips but find it hard to get one, I have a bonus homemade recipe for you ;)

How To Make Your Own Pull/Pore Strip
All you need is; 1 Table spoon of liquid Milk, 1 table spoon of unflavored jello & a container (microwavable)

Steps
* Scoop 1 tbs of milk into the container
* Add 1 tbs of jello to the milk and stir.
* Put mixture in the microwave for 10 minutes
* Allow to cool and apply on your nose or any part you want to remove excess oil
* Peel off after 5 minutes once its dry

Very simple and easy to make right? Very affordable and stress free also. The picture bellow shows what the homemade pore strip looks like after you take it off.

I haven't been so regular here lately. Not my fault guys, been buried deep in a lot of things and also have loads of clients to meet up with. Though that isn't enough reason to leave you all unattended to ;)

So today, I'm going to be giving you some of my very best tips on getting your makeup to stay on all day without smudging, smearing, melting, cleaning/wiping off or making you look tired. It's all about perfection right? So lets perfect out makeup skill to give us that flawless look all day long because your outlook really does matter.

Tip 1
I'll start with the face. This is the base for any makeup you're applying, so your face has to be well taken care of to help hold your makeup. When starting your makeup application, the first thing to do after washing your face is moisturizing. Like I said in one of my earlier posts, if your skin is really oily, you can skip the moisturizer. Next step is the face/foundation primer. Make sure you prime your face before applying foundation. It helps absorb all the oil secreted.

Tip 2
Dust a little white powder over your foundation and let it get absorbed for about 2 minutes before you apply your brown powder. This serves as an oil blocking backup especially for people with oily skin. If you have normal to dry skin, you can skip this step. After you apply your brown powder, you can dust a tiny bit of white powder over your face again just to set the brown powder.

Tip 3
This is the step were you do your eyebrows. Don't just apply your eye pencil or eyebrow filler, you should cover your brow area with the little foundation left on your foundation brush or sponge before you start with your eye pencil application. This helps your brows stay in place all day. You can also use your eye primmer instead of foundation.

Tip 4
The eyebrows are one part of our total makeover that people always have a problem with. its possible to still have them clean off after using your primmer or foundation before its application so just to be on a safe side, dust a little translucent powder over your already done brows.

Tip 5
Still focusing on the eyes, one other major problem is getting your lower & upper lid eyeliners to stay without settling in the corners of your eyes. Most times we always have to clean the inner & outer corners of our eyes because the eyeliners must have gathered/caked there. This is almost unavoidable as your eyes secrete fluid regularly to clean out foreign bodies (of which your eyeliner is one). So, the best way to stop this or at least reduce it is by using water proof eyeliners or using an eye primmer just before you apply your eye liner.

Tip 6
I've seen lots of people with part of their eye shadows cleaned off. You can have your shadows stay on all day & sometimes it might even be stubborn and not want to clean off after washing. The secret is eye primers I'm sure most of us already know little about eye primers they help hold your eye shadow in place. just apply on your eyelids before your eye shadow application.

Tip 7
If you want to keep your eyelashes straight and perfectly arranged all day, your best bet is using a water proof mascara. It helps hold your lashes in place all day without it entangling.

Tip 8
Most people wonder how its possible to keep their lipsticks on all day. Well its the easiest of all this steps. You can eat, drink, lick your lips & still have your lipstick on without having to reapply. All you need to do is stop using lip gloss before you apply your lipstick or lip liner. If you're using a lip liner before your lipstick, ensure to blend it out before you apply your lipstick, then your lip gloss can follow. Trust me, this way nothing is going to clean it off as long as you're wearing good/original lipstick ;)

Tip 9
Most people don't like wearing blush because its been greatly abused. Some also over do it just because they want it to stay on all day or maybe they just lost their mirror in the process of applying their blush ;)
Anyway, you can have your blush applied faintly & appropriately without it cleaning off or fading all day. All you need to do is apply a layer of translucent powder over the blush.

Tip 10
My last tip is for that stubborn oily nose. You'll always have to powder your nose or wipe off the oil most times which can be annoying. So I found out a little secret to controlling this. Its not a big one but it'll help a little. what I do is apply double the amount of white powder/foundation/brown powder I apply on my face on the nose area (I use about 2 or 3 coats of each on the nose) this helps control the oil. I also keep a powdered part on my face wipe so every time i wipe my face, i use that powdered part on my nose.

So......Ten wordy tips from me to you. I always try my best to make my posts less wordy but....
I'm sure I've been able to solve one or two issues on helping you have your makeup last all day, so please ask questions if you have any or share my post with friends. You can also leave a reply to commend me for my effort ;)

Not everyone is blessed with the perfect feature, either body of facial. That's why most people result to plastic/corrective/cosmetic surgery. The face is the first thing people see when they see you, this makes your facial features very important (at least to some people).

Lots of people go through a lot just to perfect that sagging skin, big n full lips or wide, long & big nose. Well I've got great news for you concerning that nose job you wanted to get. There's an alternative.
Instead of spending so much altering your natural, God given bogus nose ;), you can always create an optical illusion with makeup. This is called contouring and highlighting.

Wondering how makeup is gonna help conceal that nose you don't really like? Just follow my nose reduction makeup tips...

All you need is a foundation that is one shade darker than your skin tone & a highlighting powder or face powder that is one shade lighter than your skin.

Steps To Getting Smaller looking Nose
* Find a well-lit place where you can put your makeup on. Natural light is best but make sure it is not so light that your face appears bright or that the light hits one side of your face more than the other.

* The next step is to create shadows (contouring) around your nose by putting a little of that slightly dark shade of foundation (you can also use a contour powder or cream) on each side of the nose and then blend it out a little towards your cheek.

*Lastly, apply light powder (or highlight powder) on the bridge of your nose to make it more pronounced.

Very easy and simple tips. All you need is 2 minutes to get that slim looking nose that;ll give you more self confidence.
You can do the rest of your makeup after your nose has been treated ;)

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been terribly harassed by this super hot weather. The sun hasn't been very nice to us lately and it even gets worse or intensified when it rains sometimes. As good as the early morning sun is to the skin, it could also be very damaging when its slightly hotter than normal.

Harsh/Hot weathers can cause several bad effects that are damaging to the skin which can result to Sun burn, Acne, Tiny rashes and lots more depending on your skin type. The good news is, you can always prevent all these from happening to you by following some simple steps I have for you.

- First thing I advice is that you buy a good body cream with sunscreen (SPF15). This helps protect your skin from getting burnt by the sun.
* Ensure you rub in the body cream properly until its well absorbed into the skin.
* Don't leave out any part of your body untouched because I know most people cream just their hands and legs, leaving other areas out.
* Make sure you apply your body cream on your face before you apply your makeup (Ladies) or you can choose to use a moisturizer with SPF if you have very dry skin.

- Buy a good facial cleanser or toner. The sun is really hot so you get to sweat a lot all day, which increases the production/secretion of sebum. So you need the cleanser to help reduce the oil produced daily.
* Cleansers/Toners/Astringents come in different types. So you can choose the one that best suits you, depending on your skin type. Though mild ones are preferable.

-Carry around a pack or Face wipes and Facial tissues.
* Face wipes and facial tissues are very important during this season. As much as you have washed and cleansed your face in the morning, this sun is hot enough to still break through all your early morning ritual barriers. It won't burn your skin but will still cause the secretion of sebum which helps attach a lot of dust and dirt on your skin so I advice you wipe your face regularly during the day.
* Wiping you face regularly helps reduce the dust on your skin, hereby preventing unwanted acne or pimples.
* The wipes also help cool your skin, leaving it soft and hydrated.

- Wash your face at least three times a day.
* I advice you wash your face regularly during the day just so you can reduce the quantity of oil and dirt that gets absorbed into your skin which could result to acne, pimples or some other reactions on you skin.
* This might not be convenient for most people especially if you run a busy schedule but you can always make good use of your wipes instead.

-Lastly, never every ignore that night bath. No matter how tired you are from the day's stress, make sure you wash up at night before you go to bed.
* It helps take off the dry dirt that has been attached to your skin during the day.
* After sweating all day, you don't want to go to bed with all the sweat because microorganisms will find this a suitable medium to grow/replicated and this might cause other skin infections.
* Ensure you wash your face properly and go through the same early morning ritual, which is washing your face properly and ensuring you cleanse before sleeping Also, make sure you use a moisturizer after cleansing.

- An extra tip.... Please buy sun glasses to protect your eyes also.

If you are able to follow all these steps, you'll retain your complexion, youthful and beautiful skin. Thanks a lot for reading through, please leave a comment if you have further questions or you need to consult me.

Ever heard of Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions? They are eyelash extensions that look as natural as you can ever. I'm sure most of us have seen foreign celebrities such as Kim K & others with eyelash extension that look so real, you almost can't tell if its their natural eyelash or not.

Most of them actually fix these eyelashes making their own lashes look extra full and still looking natural without the root thickness and glue flaws. This Semi-permanent lashes come in individual strands so you can decide how full you want your lashes to be or how scanty you want them. Hmm....isn't this interesting?

On one of my numerous beauty information strolls, I came across this special brand of eyelash extension that gives you that natural but luscious eyelashes, without so much stress or fear of the glue showing. It's the only one of its kind here in Nigeria and the brand is called ''Lash Perfect''...

Lash Perfect is a UK based company now in Nigeria, that specializing in training and sales of Semi-permanent eyelash extension that lasts up to 8-12 weeks with regular maintenance. The eyelashes provide thickness and length to your own natural eyelashes thus enhancing the charm and appeal of your eyes. They also require professional application to ensure the best finish, by blending the lash extensions evenly with your natural lashes using their highly skilled techniques.

After doing a little research about this eyelash brand I decided to get a picture of the already fixed eyelashes on a black woman so we'll see how real they are because I know my people, you all like seeing things on black people before you believe how real it is, so that's a picture (above) for you ;)

These eyelashes are very light, comfortable and natural. They come in different colours for your super glam look.

Every makeup professional should get these lashes, to give their clients something comfortable, classy and glamorous instead of the regular synthetic individual eyelash extensions we generally fix.

I'm definitely going to get trained on the application of these lashes so I can give my clients a taste of Glam in a new dimension ;)

You can visit the Lash Perfect page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/pages/Lash-Perfect-Nigeria/247099335425708) to learn more about the brand in Nigeria or visit their website: www.lashperfect.co.uk
or send them an email to book a training or get your eyelashes perfected: lashperfectnigeria@gmail.com

Sometime ago I said I'll be doin a review on different fashion brands & beauty products. So today, the spotlight is on two fashion designers, Mr. Akinbode Oreoluwa Henry & Mr. Olateru Temitope .k, who manage a special & unique brand called ''Henry Couture(HC)''. Their vision is to embolden the Nigerian Culture via Fashion.

You must be thinking ''Here we go again about fashion designers, don't we already have a lot of them?'' Well I'll tell you, this is different. They aren't restricted to a particular kind of attire but instead, they are an ''all round'' Couture brand. Their focuses is on; Male & Female traditional attires, Ankara Shorts & Trousers, Corporate (Shirts, English & French Suits) & Casual clothing. Isn't this interesting?

I'm not trying to promote this brand because they are closely associated with me. I never even knew they existed until I was asked by a friend to help with the makeup for the models during their photo shoot. I was impressed & inspired by the quality of the fabrics and the designs of each piece showcased that day and since I'm a lover of fashion & young, encouraging entrepreneurs, I decided to do this.

They have neatly Tailored Suits, Carefully fitted shirts, Different traditional designs made from all kinds of fabrics and carefully cut Casual designs also. Their fabrics are particularly of high quality & not regular or common. Every piece of clothing they have is also very affordable, unlike the high priced collections by lots of the already known Nigerian designers. I'm highly impressed by their work.... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE & LOVE every piece of it.

Just so you see what I'm talking about, I attached a couple of pictures so you can also drool over them but also patronise them after feeding your eyes. So, Enjoy....

Hi people, I'm here again today. Been a few days since I dropped a line ;) . I've been working on preparations for my Makeup & Jewellery training which has been taking a lot of mind work.

I haven't been writing but my brushes definitely haven't been on strike. So, today I'm going to be sharing some pictures of some of my work & my brushes & colour palettes in action. Will also tell you how I achieved the look and the products I used, so sit back and enjoy but don't forget to drop me a comment or commend my work & please do ask questions.

The first look I'm going to share is what I call the ''Smokey Sparkly Night effect''. This look should be worn only on night outs or for photo shoots by models.

I'm sure you all are already waiting to read how I achieved this look. Well, its easy. I primed the face with Mary Kay foundation primer, then I applied Mary Kay Timewise foundation after which I set the foundation with TARA professional pallete powder. I used Tara eyebrow pencil to fill in her brows, and BH cosmetics concealer to define the brows. Eye shadow by BH cosmetics, I used midnight blue from the inner corners of the eyes and I smoked it out with black shadow. Then to give it that sparkly effect, I used lilac disco shimmers by Claire's. Fixed Mac eyelashes and lined her eyes with Black Opal black liner.

Lips: Pink Lip liner by Mac, fuscia & rose pink lipstick by BH cosmetics and i finished with clear lip gloss by Hard Candy. Blush by TARA.

The second makeup look I'm sharing today is the Traditional/Engagement Wedding look.

I used basically the same products as the first to achieve this look also but in different shades. Foundation by Mary Kay, powder by Tara. I filled her brows with Tara eyebrow pencil, then for the eye shadow, I used BH cosmetics shadow in silver(for the inner corner), orange & gold(middle) and I contoured with black & midnight blue. I used light & mid brown matte shadows for her crease and to highlight, I applied a mixture of silver & gold highlight eye shadows. The trick to achieve this flawless look is proper blending.
Lips: Hot red lip liner by Mac, and red lipstick by BH cosmetics. I skipped the lip gloss ;). Blush by Tara.

Well, well.....that's how I got these looks. Lots of products? Yes! It takes more than one product to achieve that perfect look. More pictures for your viewing pleasure? Visit my Gallery by clicking on the link by the right side of the blog, just above my blog archive or if you're using a mobile browser, just click the ''Home'' icon on top of my page, this should give you other page options you can view ;)

The skin is very delicate, especially the areas around your eyes. Not only harsh weathers but several other factors can affect this delicate area causing blood vessels to show, shrinking of the skin, puffiness, redness or bags and also, dark circles developing under the eye area.

- Shrinking of the skin around the eyes can be as a result of dehydration of the skin. In order to avoid this, make sure you wash your face thoroughly every night and use a mild cleansing product or a few drops of baby shampoo to cleanse the eye area especially if you have very sensitive skin. A moisturizer, preferably one containing hyaluronic acid should then be used and properly massaged into this area until its completely absorbed by the skin.

- Puffiness appears as redness and bags appearing under the eyes or on the eyelids. This can be caused by anti-aging products, especially those containing perfume. The skin around your eye is very delicate, so if you must use anti-aging products or some other face/eye creams, choose one that is perfume free.
* Alcohol also causes puffiness. Alcohol dehydrates the skin when taken and puffiness is usually a symptom of this. I'm not saying you should deny yourself a glass of cocktail every other day but make sure you take plenty of water afterwards and sleep on a lofty pillow.

- Blood vessels showing under the eyelids are actually very common. Its caused mostly by harsh products, so always choose products containing Vitamin K because it stimulates blood circulation in the skin around the eyes.

The eye area is one delicate part of our total facial beauty that ages quickly and gets affected by the most unthinkable things. So, take out time to care for it specially, so you don't start concealing and concealing all your flaws at a very early stage.

Weekends are also a good day to relax with a soaked teabag or cucumber slice on your eyes for a few minutes. It won't also hurt to rest your eyes for a few hours over the weekend without staring into your computer screen or phones.

Thanks a lot for reading, make sure you share with a friend and also leave me a comment if you have any questions.
Every lady wants her face looking perfectly blended and flawless when she's going out. well, there's only one way to get that flawless looking skin if you don't already have it. Buy a good foundation.

Foundation is one makeup accessory you don't want to stay away from. It helps brighten up your face, especially when your skin is stressed. Lots of ladies already have one of these in their makeup bags/purses but using it is usually a problem. Its either because they got the wrong shade of foundation, thereby making their face too white or dark. Sometimes, buying the wrong product is usually the problem.

For me, the best bet when it comes to foundation is either Mary Kay (above) or Maybelline (below) matte wear foundation. I've heard people make comments about these products, saying they aren't the best for our weather. well, you all are wrong. These foundations come in different shades and skin tone blends that suit all kinds of skin colour, so all you need to do is pick the right shade.

I'm not trying to promote these brands but thy work perfectly well for me and are readily available in most stores.
I always advice people to buy a foundation sponge. Its the best if you aren't a professional in makeup application, so leave the foundation brush to the pro's who'll know how to use it without leaving crack lines on the sides of their faces. There's also nothing wrong with using foundation everyday, as long as you wash your face every night when you get home.

Guidelines To Perfect Foundation Application
- Before buying your foundation, make sure you do a quick test. This test is carried out by applying and blending a little amount of the foundation on your jaw line and not on your hands because the foundation is for your face not body. Also, some peoples faces are darker than the rest of their body so using your hands as your ''buy guide'' might just help you pick the wrong shade.
- After picking the right shade of foundation, apply a reasonable amount on the sponge and rub all over the face, covering every contour and corner.
- Ensure you blend into your hair line, ears and down your jaw to your neck line and even your chest, if you are wearing something that'll expose your chest.
- Never apply an extra coat of foundation on already dry layer of foundation.
- Some people also say you shouldn't apply foundation on your eyelids but I'm saying you can, only if you don't have an eye primer, which most people don't except you are totally into makeup.
- If you have really oily skin, I advice that you skip moisturizers or facial creams before applying your foundation.
- Once you are done applying your foundation, let it dry out a little to avoid you face looking caked after you apply your powder.
- Dust your brown powder all over your face to set the foundation.
I'm some people are wondering why I'm not giving you tips on how to actually apply your eyebrow pencils or 'draw' the perfect brows instead of the long stories on face shapes, types of eyebrows, arch's e.t.c...
Well, you can have perfectly groomed eyebrows that still won't fit your face shape and that's just wrong.

Since I've been able to put you through choosing the perfect brow shape that best suits your face shape, I'll move on to giving you tips on how to achieve those perfect looking eyebrows.

Firstly, you need to know the outline of your eyebrows. In the diagram, angle A shows the inner corner of your eyes which is directly above your eyes. If yours is not that full, you can always fill it up with your pencil. Angle B is the arch and that's were your brow bone is located, so make sure your arch is well elevated and above the brow bone. Angle C is the outer corner of your brows and ensure not to extend yours beyond what is shown in the diagram.

Once you are familiar with what your brows should look like, then we can move onto filling them.

Step 1:
* Get rid of unwanted hair, this can be done by tweezing, bladding, waxing or treading. Choose whichever suits you. This is the most important part of priming your brows cos once you take out the wrong set, it'll be difficult to apply your eyebrow pencil especially if you're not a pro at it. So its either you get a professional to do it for you or follow the simple rule which is; ''Pluck out hair that's right under your brow bone, following your natural eyebrow outline''.
* You can also trim carefully the inner corner of your brows if its really full and bushy. Though this part is really delicate and shouldn't be tampered with.
* Everyone already has a perfect brow shape so just make sure you follow your natural outline while shaping.

Step 2:
* Once you are done plucking out unwanted hair, the next thing is picking the right shade of eyebrow pencil. The only acceptable colour is brown which has different shades depending on the colour of your natural eyebrows.
* Please run away from colours like; pink, purple, red & green. I don't know what you're trying to achieve by using all these colours but makeup should enhance your natural beauty not make you look like a 3 year old's colouring book. So please reserve this colours for your eyes and your eyeshadow palette.
* You eyebrow pencil should also be a shade lighter than your natural brows so be careful when picking or buying pencils so you don't have perfectly groomed brows with the wrong shade.

Step 3:
* This stage is focused on application of the eyebrow pencil. First you must make sure your pencil is properly sharpened to avoid thick and shaded brows.
* Start by drawing a thin line from the lower part & inner corner of your brows to the outer corner making sure its not to thick. Repeat the same process on the upper part of your brows as shown above.
* Using the side of your pencil, fill in the middle of your brows carefully without shading too heavily, until the whole area is covered.
* You can also choose to use a powder brow filler or a matte brown eye shadow that is a shade lighter than your natural brows instead of a pencil.
* Using a mascara wand (one without mascara, preferably a new one) or spooly brush, brush/blend the eye pencil with your brows.

Step 4:
* Once you're done with the brows, you might want to make them more defined. This helps your brows look perfect and well done, making them pop.
* You can either use your foundation, concealer, highlighting shadows or highlighting pencil that closely matches your skin tone.
* Starting with your lower eyebrows, apply your concealer(or other) carefully under the already filled brows & blend it downwards towards your crease. Repeat the same step above your brows but blend upwards.
* Once your eyebrows are perfectly done, you might want to dust some powder over to help keep the concealer in place.

Hi beautiful ladies, I'm sure most of you have been able to identify your face shape by now. The next stage is determining the perfect brows for your face shape.

Round Face: If you have a round face, emphasizing the arch of the eyebrows will help give you a more narrow-faced appearance by drawing attention away from the width of your face. Your eyebrows should have a high arch and extend to the end of the cheekbone.

Long Face: If you have a long face, do not emphasize the arch of the eyebrows. Instead, flatten the brow arch to almost nothing. Doing so will give your face a more horizontal dimension making it appear shorter. Also, make sure not to extend your eyebrows past the outer corners of the eyes.

Square Face: If you have a square/angular face, use a high arch and a rounded curveon the outer ends of the eyebrows. Rounded eyebrows will help to soften the sharp angles of your face making it appear more oval.

Oval Face: This is considered the ideal face shape. The brows play no role in making it more oval because its already oval. So you can play around with different eyebrow shapes but its considered best to keep the arch soft.

Heart Face: For this shape, apply rounded brows just like the top of the heart shape. the curves of the brows should be well rounded with an angle giving you a soft, feminine and attractive look.

Diamond Face: The goal is to soften the angles of the face and make the widest portion appear less wide by making your brows angled on the inner corner and the arch a little bit curved.

The shape of the eyebrows should be determined by the shape of your face, don't say because your friend has her eyebrows shaped in a particular way means you can do the same. It just might not fit your facial structure. Though you can always have a desired shape, especially now that different eyebrow shapes are in vogue, just ensure that you follow the natural arch above your brows and also consider your face shape.

Thanks a lot for reading through, will be expecting to read your comments and views..........

Lots of women have a problem grooming their eyebrows & also, choosing the best eyebrow shape that fits their face. Its not so difficult but sometimes we get carried away by the looks of other peoples eyebrows instead of concentrating on ours.

I found out that, of all makeup issues we face, the eyebrows are the most constant & disturbing, causing a major dent in having a beautiful makeup look. Also, from my previous post "Tips on Perfecting Your Eyebrows"(www.mojizzle.wordpress.com), I also got loads of comments and questions on eyebrow grooming. So, I'm going to take my time this week to teach or guide you all on how to groom your brows & choose the perfect brows for your face shape.

WHAT'S YOUR FACE SHAPE

The first stage of eyebrow grooming is to identify your face shape. This is also the first stage to creating the most beautiful look. So ladies, make sure you have no makeup on, pull your hair back and away from your face, sit in front of a mirror and start analyzing.

There are six face shapes and they are; Oval, Round, Long, Square, Heart & Diamond face shapes. The chart below should help in case you don't know what they look like

Once you have successfully determined what face shape you have, the next step should be choosing the right kind of eyebrows that will fit your face shape. The elevation of the arch is what really determines the shape of the brows so that's going to be one of our major focus tomorrow because this its also a determinant of the kind of eyebrow shape that'll fit your face.
For most people that go to work really early or wake up late and can't waste another 30 minutes making up, you can always do a quick fix in 5 minutes.

The goal of a five-minute makeup look is to look well-groomed and
rested and also to create a brighter, fresher appearance as though you’ve
had eight wonderful hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Your eye colors(eye shadows) should be neutral, soft and subtle to best enhance and
flatter your complexion. For the most wearable look, textures should be
neutral and not too matte. A light shimmer on the eyes has a brightening effect that will
counteract any tiredness, but those with more mature skin should use an
eye shadow primer to smooth out eyelid skin.

A colorless highlighter can truly
transform fast; Use your finger to apply it onto eyelids, under brow bone, high up on
cheekbones and onto lips to add light and illuminate your features. This
alone with mascara can complete a polished face, just be sure to curl
your lashes. Your eyes are the key to looking refreshed and awake.

Face: Start with a tinted moisturizer that has SPF and add a hydrating,
light-reflecting foundation and concealer wherever you need to brighten
up tired-looking skin. Blend fresh pink cream blush onto the apples of
the cheeks.

Eyes: Blend a soft brown eye shadow over the
lid and bring up to the socket crease. Curl lashes and apply a coat of
budge-proof lengthening black mascara.

Lips: Opt for a rosy stain to brighten up your look or any soft or natural colour.

With this, you're good to go;)

Acne is one major beauty hitch lots of people battle with. It used to be a puberty bonus but now lots of old and middle aged people struggle with it.

There has been different types of remedies/beauty routines that people have recommended just to prevent and help clear these facial skin deformities but the funny thing is, we are the actual cause of acne/pimples showing up on our faces at this stage in our lives. You want to know how?...

Well, most of people indulge in unhealthy eating that cause damage to the skin. Crazy-high expectations for yourself also and being obsessed with perfection
are also a recipe for stress which many people handle with a bag of chips or a
brownie. These foods are high in fat which will definitely settle somewhere.

Chocolate doesn't cause acne like most of us think, but processed foods can
worsen skin by causing inflammation. Instead, reach for
snacks that can actually improve your complexion, like raw fruits and
vegetables, thanks to their antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits.
(The fact that they'll keep you in your current jeans size is a double
bonus).

If you have redness, stay away from spicy food and shellfish,
since they can cause blood vessels to flare. A good bet is
whole-grain crackers or pasta. To encourage collagen production, you can eat
whole grains plus foods rich in amino acids, like eggs, beans, and
seeds. Eating cold-water fish and almonds, which contain omega-3's, will
help dry skin also.

So people, try to eat healthy and save some skin ;)
